Description

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position involves traveling with a medical provider to nursing homes and assisted living facilities to assist with scheduled patient visits.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and be comfortable driving to multiple facilities.
Two weeks of hands-on training will be provided at our clinic before beginning facility visits. Training will cover our EMR, documentation, patient preparation, provider support, and facility workflow.

Job Summary


The Medical Assistant will accompany and support a healthcare provider during scheduled nursing home and assisted living visits. Duties include preparing patient charts, assisting during rounds, coordinating with facility staff, tracking labs and orders, and completing required follow-up.


We are looking for someone dependable, punctual, organized, professional, and comfortable traveling between facilities.


Responsibilities


  • Travel with the provider to assigned nursing homes and assisted living facilities
  • Prepare patient schedules, charts, notes, and documentation before visits
  • Assist the provider during patient rounds and examinations
  • Obtain and document vital signs and basic patient information when needed
  • Coordinate with nursing staff regarding scheduled patients and records
  • Track lab results, diagnostic testing, orders, and follow-ups
  • Assist with prescriptions and basic medical office duties as directed
  • Prepare medical equipment and supplies for facility visits
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Communicate with the clinic and facility staff regarding patient care
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
  • Complete follow-up tasks after facility visits
Qualifications


  • Valid driver’s license – required
  • Reliable personal vehicle – required
  • Willing and able to drive to nursing homes and assisted living facilities
  • Medical Assistant education or experience preferred
  • CMA and/or BLS certification preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with elderly patients
  • Basic computer/EMR skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn
Training
