Medical Assistant | Specialty Clinic

Join a busy specialty clinic supporting both patient care. We"re looking for a professional, detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Room patients, take vital signs, and update medical histories
• Assist with scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and copays
• Manage patient calls, messages, and prescription requests
• Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain cleanliness standards
• Accurately document information in EMR systems

Qualifications:

• Active Medical Assistant Certification and CPR/BLS certification
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience (specialty clinic experience preferred)
• EMR experience (Athena, Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar)
• Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills
• Oncology, women"s health/gynecology, or high-volume clinic experience is a plus
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply

Essential Skills

• Active Medical Assistant Certification
• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, not necessarily in this specialty
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly Athena
• Proficiency in medical terminology, healthcare, and vital signs charting
• CPR/BLS certification
• Polished and professional demeanor

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a specialty or oncology clinic is preferred
• Skilled in both back office and some front office clinic duties including insurance verification, copays, referrals, and scheduling appointments
• Experience in gynecological specialty is preferred
• Bilingual abilities are a plus
• Comfortable working in a radiation specialty
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and flexibility skills
• Willingness to learn and take initiative

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, with a 30-minute lunch break during which clinic phones are turned off. The role involves working with adult patients in a fast-paced environment, requiring candidates to be on their feet throughout the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
