In this role it is based out of the Las Vegas Health and Wellness Center located in the Courtyard servicing unhoused individuals.
The Medical Assistant participates in the delivery of excellent medical services in a patient centered environment with an emphasis on the prevention of disease; preparation of the patient for examination and/or procedures; administers medications under direction of provider; performs in office lab procedures and phlebotomy on pediatric and adult patients; sterilizes instruments and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. This will include actively participating in and supporting quality improvement activities and the clinical practice teams with these efforts.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build trust with patients from diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to treating all individuals with dignity, empathy, and respect. Team members should be comfortable working with patients who may face complex medical, behavioral health, social, and housing challenges. This Medical Assistant position is unique from a traditional clinic-based role. The successful candidate will provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable populations.
