Position Overview
We are seeking a Spanish-speaking Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support front-office and back-office clinic operations, provide clinical care, perform phlebotomy and other procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and support patient wellness and preventive care initiatives.
Responsibilities
Support daily front-office and back-office clinic operations, including patient registration, check-in, appointment scheduling, and answering phone calls.
Greet patients, room them, obtain medical histories, and record vital signs.
Perform blood draws, venipuncture, and specimen collection.
Conduct EKGs and point-of-care testing as applicable.
Administer vaccines and injections in accordance with clinical protocols, training, and licensure.
Assist healthcare providers with examinations, clinical procedures, and patient care.
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation in the EMR system.
Support patient education, preventive care, wellness outreach, population health initiatives, and health risk reduction.
Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients.
Maintain examination rooms, medical supplies, and clinical equipment.
Follow HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, patient safety requirements, and clinic policies.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care.
Required Qualifications
Medical Assistant: Minimum 1 year of experience beyond externship; 2–3 years preferred.
LPN: Active and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience.
Spanish-speaking proficiency required.
Experience with both front-office and back-office clinical operations.
Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, venipuncture, and specimen collection.
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Experience with patient scheduling, rooming, and recording vital signs.
Experience with EKGs and point-of-care testing.
Current BLS or CPR certification required. Candidates without certification may start pending client approval, where permitted.
Strong patient care, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Medical Assistant certification strongly preferred.
DOT certification highly preferred.
