Overview
We are seeking a
Bilingual Medical Assistant II (English/Spanish) to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced outpatient healthcare setting. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care, supporting providers, and ensuring a positive patient experience throughout each visit.
This is a patient-facing position located in
Sarasota, FL, offering the potential for extension or permanent employment based on business needs and performance.
Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- WOur Companyome and assist patients during office visits
- Obtain and document patient medical histories, symptoms, and vital signs
- Enter patient information accurately into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Administer injections and medications as permitted by certification and state regulations
- Perform diagnostic testing and screenings
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy procedures as needed
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to support patient care
Administrative Support
- Schedule appointments and assist with patient flow
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Support operational and customer service activities within the clinic
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and patient privacy requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a back-office clinical setting
- Active Medical Assistant certification or registration (CMA, RMA, or equivalent state-recognized credential)
- Current CPR certification
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to complete required Tuberculosis (TB) screening
- Passion for delivering exceptional patient care and customer service
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Hands-on professional phlebotomy experience
- Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Experience with HEDIS measures and quality initiatives
- Active Medical Assistant certification through organizations such as:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Active Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification/license
