Medical Assistant Highlights
Pay: $18.00n  - $23.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–4:00 PM (40 hrs/week)
Work setting: Onsite 
Employment Type: Temporary
Travel: Occasional offsite events (~10% as needed); mileage reimbursed 
 
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and clinical support for VA Claim Exams (C&P Exams)
Interview patients to obtain comprehensive medical histories
Prepare clinical charts and conduct Medical Opinion (IMO) research prior to appointments
Update and maintain medical records and billing reports in compliance with privacy regulations
Prepare and sanitize exam rooms and medical instruments
Escort and guide claimants to exam rooms; support check-in/check-out processes
Obtain and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, weight)
Perform phlebotomy (blood draws)
Conduct EKGs, Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs), and Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) as directed
Send ordered diagnostics to appropriate facilities
Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
Operate office equipment (fax, printer, scanner, copier) and answer phones
Perform other duties as assigned
 
Requirements
Phlebotomy experience required (must be comfortable performing blood draws)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Comfortable with Office 365
Typing speed: 45–60 WPM
Ability/willingness to participate in offsite events as needed
Note: Certification is not required; onsite training provided for most duties (except phlebotomy)
