Medical Administrative Assistant

  • Maplewood, MN (100% Onsite)
  • $20-$25/hour DOE + Annual Bonus
  • Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Our client, a well-established and respected healthcare provider specializing in orthotic and prosthetic care, is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant to join their team in Maplewood, MN. This family-oriented organization combines innovative technology with personalized patient care to improve the quality of life for individuals throughout the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls and place outbound calls to patients and providers
  • Assist with front desk operations, patient check-in, and scheduling
  • Create and maintain patient records, including demographic, physician, and insurance information
  • Contact patients to schedule and confirm appointments
  • Manage intake documentation, co-pays, HIPAA acknowledgments, and insurance information
  • Notify practitioners of patient arrivals and escort patients to exam rooms
  • Review visit instructions, insurance information, and patient financial responsibilities
  • Coordinate referrals and appointments with other clinic locations
  • Verify practitioner documentation and follow-up plans
  • Open and distribute mail, monitor voicemail, and route communications
  • Order office supplies and maintain administrative inventory
  • Take and distribute notes from monthly meetings
  • Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards and company policies
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while fostering positive patient experiences

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • Experience in a medical office, clinic, or patient scheduling environment
  • 1-5+ years of administrative, office, or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of Medicare, commercial insurance, and workers' compensation requirements
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

Education:

  • High School Diploma required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Compensation

  • $20-$25/hour, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus opportunity equivalent to approximately 1-3 weeks of pay
