Job Title: Medical Administration Specialist

Location: 10th Medical Group, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, 80840

Tentative Start Date: December 1, 2025

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts between 0600–1700, excluding federal holidays

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, information management, or a related medical discipline is required
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 12 Months of experience in medical administration or healthcare office operations required.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EHR GENESIS.
  • Ability to type 30–40 words per minute.
  • Experience with budget preparation and management is preferred.
  • Experience in ophthalmology clinic or supply management a plus.
  • License/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication in English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and clerical support functions within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Manage daily operations of the Refractive Surgery Center, including ordering and maintaining required forms and supplies.
  • Prepare correspondence, memoranda, reports, and medical statements.
  • Support budget proposals, monitor expenditures, and assist in managing clinic finances.
  • Maintain patient and administrative records in compliance with HIPAA and DHA policies.
  • Coordinate with healthcare staff and leadership to support clinic operations and patient care.
  • Use EHR GENESIS and other military databases to input and retrieve patient and administrative data.
  • Assist with presentation preparation, training materials, and administrative projects as needed.
  • Provide customer service support to patients and staff, answering questions and assisting with administrative processes.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with DoD, DHA, and MTF procedures.
