Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is partnering with a respected healthcare facility in San Jose, California to hire an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) for a 13-week local travel assignment. The ideal candidate will possess strong Med-Surg experience and be comfortable floating to the ICU and Emergency Department (ED) as needed to support patient care operations.
Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions
- Perform patient assessments, monitor conditions, and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards
- Monitor and document patient progress accurately within the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition
- Float to ICU and Emergency Department units as needed based on patient census and staffing requirements
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and patient safety initiatives
- Deliver exceptional patient-centered care while supporting positive clinical outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Ability and willingness to float to ICU and Emergency Department when required
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience working in fast-paced acute care environments
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
Education & Certification Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN required)
- Current California RN License
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
