This Med-Surg RN opportunity is located in Panama City, FL at a 238-bed acute care hospital that holds Advanced Primary Stroke Care certification, Comprehensive Breast Care Center accreditation, Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation designation, and is home to the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric ER.

The role. As a Registered Nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit, you will assess patients at admission and throughout each shift, identifying and communicating changes in status to the care team promptly. You will carry out provider-ordered procedures and monitoring, administer prescribed medications, observe for therapeutic response, and act decisively if an unintended response occurs — documenting all care thoroughly and in a timely manner in the medical record. A meaningful part of this role is patient and family education: translating complex medical terminology into clear guidance covering the patient's condition, treatment plan, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up steps to ensure complete understanding before discharge.

What we're looking for.
  • Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Acute care RN experience required; experience must be within the last 3 years, unless the candidate has several years of RN experience, in which case it may be within the last 5 years (experience does not need to be specific to Med-Surg)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.

Schedule. Days (rotating weekends) 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and Nights (rotating weekends) 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Compensation. $29.92 - $44.88/hr plus $10,000 sign-on bonus
