POSITION SUMMARY:The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor works closely with the Director of Med-Surg to provide overall support for the Med-Surg nursing staff and acts as a resource to Med-Surg nursing staff. The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor identifies the education needs of individual staff members and/or the Med-Surg unit as a whole and plans and implements educational offerings. The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor conducts performance reviews and collaborates with the Director to improve the overall performance of the Med-Surg department. The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor oversees the orientation and precepteeships of new employees. This position oversees annual skills/competency testing and assures orientation of nursing staff to new equipment and procedures. The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor assists in conducting and actively participates in Med-Surg staff meetings. This position reviews and may assist in the revision of Med-Surg policies and procedures. The Med-Surg Clinical Supervisor may assist in patient care and will have scheduled time during each pay period to accomplish education, compliance, and clinical support responsibilities. REQUIREMENTS: Associates degree in Nursing 3 years of Med Surg Nursing experience State of Alaska RN License or the ability to obtain licensure upon hire BLSP (CPR), ACLS, PALS through the American Heart Association Never been to Alaska?
