Job Title: Mechanical Tool Designer

Location: Lewis Center, OH

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Tool Designer will design and develop manufacturing automation systems, tooling, fixtures, material handling equipment, and robotic automation solutions. The role requires strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, high-speed automation, conveyors, pick-and-place systems, bowl feeders, sensors, pneumatic and servo systems, and standard mechanical components.

Key Responsibilities:

Design manufacturing automation systems, tooling, fixtures, conveyors, and material handling equipment

Develop pick-and-place, pneumatic, servo, and robotic automation systems

Create mechanical drawings, BOMs, and designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Perform robot/tooling design, engineering calculations, and feasibility analysis

Select bowl feeders, sensors, LM Guides, servo motors, and other mechanical components

Support machine fabrication, assembly, debug, integration, and troubleshooting

Coordinate with customers, vendors, electrical designers, programmers, and onsite/offshore teams

Lead and coordinate mechanical design activities for a team of 10 12 members

Requirements:

5 7 years of mechanical tool design/manufacturing automation experience

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD

Experience with high-speed automation, conveyors, SPMs, and material handling

Strong knowledge of pneumatic, servo, robotic systems, bowl feeders, and sensors

Experience designing jigs, fixtures, tooling, and automation equipment

Knowledge of LM Guides, servo motors, switches, load cells, and LVDTs

Experience with machine debug, fabrication, assembly, and integration

Strong team leadership and onsite/offshore coordination skills
