Job Summary
Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a Mechanical Technician III to work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers and design, fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical subsystems on OEM vehicle platforms. This role uses SolidWorks to create 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings and supports machining, fabrication, assembly, testing, and shop operations. The technician works independently within established procedures and contributes to multiple development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in multiple mechanical and vehicle development projects.
• Design mechanical components and subsystems using SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
• Create detailed drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, tooling, dies, and controls.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install components on OEM vehicle platforms.
• Work with engineers to modify designs, resolve operating issues, and reduce production problems.
• Support product testing and prepare completed products for Quality Assurance and Testing.
• Perform machining and fabrication using CNC mills, lathes, drills, welders, gantry/plasma cutters, and other shop equipment.
• Perform sheet metal work, painting, powder coating, and general shop fabrication.
• Maintain and clean shop equipment and assist with facility upkeep.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and apply relevant improvements to design and development activities.
• Apply knowledge of machining operations, manufacturing processes, and electronics wire routing.

• Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3 5 years of experience in mechanical design, fabrication, machining, or mechanical/electrical engineering.
• 3 5 years of SolidWorks experience, including 3D modeling, 2D part drawings, and 3D routing.
• Experience using CNC equipment and generating G-code from 2D drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical design implementation through machining operations.
• Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication.
• Knowledge of electronics wire routing.
• Proficiency with welding, machining, drilling, cutting, and general fabrication equipment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and cross-functional development teams.
