Mechanical Technician

Summary:

• Location: Fremont, CA
• Duration: 12 Months
• Work Mode: Onsite
• 40 hrs/week
• OT when needed

Responsibilities:

• Operate a cryogenic Air Separation Unit (ASU) maintaining plant production and operating efficiency.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.
• Monitor and maintain safe operations of the Air Separation Facility producing cryogenic products.
• Control flow purities and pressures using SCADA/HMI/PLC systems.
• Work with management to maximize production and efficiency.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
• Perform quality assurance functions and maintain accurate records.
• Identify potential problems and determine maintenance actions.
• Perform complex plant functions including DERIME and warm plant start-ups.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair process and system problems.
• Engage in safety and regulatory compliance activities.
• Assist with safety incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality assurance systems.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years technical college or military technical experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating an Air Separation Plant or related industrial experience.
• Critical thinking ability to troubleshoot and diagnose plant equipment issues.
• Proficiency with common hand tools and test equipment for mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs.
• Ability to work overtime, off shifts, alone, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Capability to share on-call responsibilities for uninterrupted plant operations.

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding of water treatment principles and equipment.
• Basic understanding of refrigeration systems.
• Basic understanding of air separation and associated technologies.
