Description Of Services

• The Fitter will lay out, fit, align, and assemble prefabricated cast and forged components prior to welding, soldering, brazing, or bonding operations in a shipyard environment.
• Duties include performing fitting and machining operations such as straightening, grinding, drilling, reaming, and countersinking materials to close tolerances, and repairing or reworking distorted parts.
• This role requires monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with control procedures, selecting equipment, and setting up materials based on general instructions and specifications.
• The ideal candidate must be fully trained and compliant with all required OSHA safety standards, including confined space, fall protection, respirator use, and the proper use of all mandated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Skills/Experience

• 1-5 years of SHIP FITTER experience in a SHIPYARD (Required)
• Confined space trained (OSHA 29 CFR 1915 Subpart B) -- (Required)
• Hazard communication trained (OSHA 29 CFR 1915.1200) -- (Required)
• Respirator trained, qualified, and medically cleared (MSA COMFO CLASSIC or 3M PAPR) -- (Required)
• Fall Protection trained (4-D Body Harness, Vertical & Horizontal Lifelines, Beam Clamp) -- (Required)
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) trained -- (Required)
• Audiometric testing completed -- (Required)
