Mechanical Systems Engineer

Pay Range: $36.66hr - $41.66hr

Job Overview:

As the Mechanical Systems Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for creating technical specifications and defining requirements according to design standards, fulfilling tasks and targets set by the organization, resolving issues arising in the manufacturing process or field, and providing technical support and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of technical specifications, verification of supplier bids with clarifications, technical supplier negotiations including risk assessment, and commercial selection support for Air Intake systems, Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers, Noise Enclosures, and Fire Protection systems.
• Review internal and external designs and documentation.
• Support the procurement department regarding technical issues.
• Coordinate with the Lead Engineer, customer, procurement, suppliers, other engineering departments, and project management.
• Ensure alignment of the supplier's solution with requirement specifications, customer needs, and interface partners.
• Attend manufacturing shop inspections and perform field/site support during installation, commissioning, and warranty.
• Provide proposal support for the Bid Management team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of related technical experience.
• Detailed knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems of a gas turbine, such as air intake, acoustic enclosure, ventilation, and fire protection.
• Capability to handle cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives, domestically and internationally.
• Ability to work as part of a larger global engineering team in a collaborative manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively within a wide range of organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• 100% Onsite presence required.
