The Mechanical Superintendent will lead field teams, coordinate labor and materials, manage project schedules, enforce safety requirements, and ensure HVAC and plumbing installations meet VMG's standards for quality and performance.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands both field execution and the broader project objectives-taking ownership and serving as the Project Manager's primary partner on the jobsite.What You'll DoField Leadership & OperationsLead daily mechanical field operations and oversee crew performanceDirect the installation of commercial HVAC and plumbing systemsAssign work, communicate expectations, and monitor field productivityCoach and develop foremen, mechanics, helpers, and other field personnelPromote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork across the projectServe as VMG's primary field representative with clients, partners, and vendorsPlanning & Project CoordinationCoordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, and site accessReview mechanical drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirementsWork closely with project managers, general contractors, and other tradesIdentify field conflicts early and implement practical solutionsTrack project progress and make adjustments to keep work on scheduleSupport inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, and closeoutSafety, Quality & DocumentationEnsure HVAC and plumbing installations meet project specifications and applicable codesConduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce VMG safety policiesMaintain compliance with OSHA standards and site-specific requirementsMonitor workmanship and address quality concerns promptlyMaintain accurate daily reports, progress updates, and project documentationKeep the jobsite organized, productive, and safeWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 8 years of commercial mechanical construction experienceDemonstrated experience leading field teams on large commercial projectsStrong working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systemsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, and specificationsExperience coordinating labor, materials, equipment, schedules, and other tradesStrong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to make timely field decisions and take ownership of project outcomesOSHA 30 certification preferredValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to work on active project sites in Sterling and throughout the surrounding DMV regionWhy Join VMG?VMG offers:Competitive compensationContract and direct-hire opportunitiesComprehensive benefits for eligible employeesOpportunities to advance into senior field leadership or project-management rolesExposure to a variety of large-scale commercial projectsDirect communication and collaboration with company leadershipA supportive, team-oriented work environmentJoin VMGIf you are an experienced mechanical construction leader who can take ownership of field operations and keep projects moving forward, we would like to hear from you.
