Keep the Lines Moving: Mechanical Reliability Technician

Step into a specialized cable shop where precision and uptime matter. As the Mechanical Reliability Technician, you are the steward of mechanical integrity across production equipment—keeping cable manufacturing lines operating safely, consistently, and to spec. You’ll pair deep mechanical know‑how with supporting electrical skills to inspect, diagnose, and repair complex machinery so production never misses a beat.

A Day in the Life

• Walk the floor to verify equipment condition, listen for emerging issues, and schedule preventive tasks to get ahead of failures.
• Execute planned PM/PdM on gearboxes, drive systems, pneumatics, rotating assemblies, and related power transmission components.
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns: align drive assemblies, replace bearings, belts, and bushings, service hydraulics, and return assets to peak performance.
• Calibrate and fine‑tune specialized cable equipment for precise tension control and efficient line throughput.
• Triage basic electrical symptoms, support secondary electrical troubleshooting, and complete general facility/shop maintenance as needed.
• Champion shop safety and 5S standards—maintain guards and interlocks, and keep tools and work areas audit‑ready.

What You’ll Own

• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance on gearboxes, drives, pneumatics, and rotating machinery
• Mechanical Troubleshooting & Repair including alignment, component replacement, and restoration to spec
• Machinery Servicing & Setup with precise calibrations and teardowns on cable manufacturing equipment
• Basic Electrical & Facility Support to assist with diagnostics and shop upkeep
• Safety & 5S discipline ensuring safe, orderly, and hazard‑free operations

What You Bring

• Mechanical aptitude proven by hands‑on work with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in industrial settings
• Tooling & fabrication proficiency across hand/power tools, alignment tools, precision metrology, and shop machinery
• Diagnostic & analytical ability to uncover root causes of vibration, wear, and recurring failures
• Autonomy & work ethic—self‑directed, dependable, detail‑driven; able to set priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Preferred Background

• Cable & wire shop equipment: wire drawing, cabling/stranding, or extrusion machinery
• Fluid power & drive systems: hydraulic power units, pneumatic controls, robust mechanical drives
• Safety & maintenance practices: Mechanical LOTO, rigging fundamentals, and 5S
