Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector – Nuclear

Imagine stepping onto the Waterford, CT site, where every measurement and test you perform contributes to safe, clean energy. As the Mechanical Quality Assurance Inspector, you report directly to the Site Manager and serve as a frontline guardian of standards on an on-site contract assignment.

Your mission

Protect the integrity of parts, piping, welds, and heavy machinery through disciplined visual and NDT inspections. Ensure nothing proceeds to installation until materials, calibrations, and documentation check out perfectly against drawings, specifications, and nuclear standards.

Key outcomes

• Flaw detection via visual and non-destructive examination on critical mechanical components.
• Verification of compliance with design blueprints, technical requirements, and frameworks including ASME and NQA-1.
• Pre-installation confirmation of material test reports (MTRs), calibration logs, and complete inspection packages.
• Immediate control of nonconformances—pausing defective work and closing corrective actions with documented evidence.

What equips you for success

• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical inspection or an allied field.
• Confidence with precision metrology tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Non-destructive examination certification at Level II or III.
• Working knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and NRC regulations.

Compensation

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly pay range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $60.00 per hour.
