Join us as a Mechanical Project Engineer.Location Type: The position is onsite in Nashville, TN.What We OfferCompetitive wages, medical benefits starting your first day, and paid parental leaveOpportunity to work on unique, custom automation projectsA collaborative, engineering-driven environmentCareer growth and skill development opportunitiesA role where craftsmanship and quality truly matterHow You'll Make An ImpactDevelop conceptual designs and create system level architecture.Establish project plans including coordination of technical resources and design directions.Complete layout of machine through detail of all components.Collaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.Assist with the successful management of assigned projects as they relate to cost, quality, timing and customer satisfaction.Manage several on-going projects concurrently.Assist in developing the Mechanical Engineering department through leadership, experience, encouragement and mentorship.Possesses above average oral and written communication skills.Initiate and maintain extensive contact with key engineers, external departments, and customers.Lead teams and influence project direction and progress.Serve as a technical expert in the department and may mentor/train other mechanical engineers.Travel required up to 20% including overnight and international to customer sites & other JR locations.Note: This list of responsibilities is not inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic studyProfessional Engineer OR other technical Certifications preferred6+ years of related experienceExperienced with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD)Knowledgeable of automation products, services, and the industryCapable of creating machine designs with complex assemblies and subassemblies.Able to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' workCurrent or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferredPreferred industry experience: Process and/or MedicalCompany OverviewAt JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, we discover potential, reimagine limits, and advance industry.
