| JOB SUMMARY |
| This position will take direction from the Superintendent to see projects through to completion while independently managing day-to-day field activities |
| MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS |
- 1+ years of experience in pipe fitting or plumbing, preferably in an industrial or commercial environment
|
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
|
- Proven ability to lead and manage a crew of up to five (5) field personnel
- Extensive knowledge of pneumatic and hydronic piping systems
- Extensive knowledge of pipe sizing calculations, including gallons per minute
- Proficiency in all pipe materials and fittings including PVC, Copper, Brass, and Carbon Steel
- Skilled in soldering, brazing, threading, grooving, torch cutting, and hanger installation
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and shop drawings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with General Contractors, inspectors, clients, and internal project management
- Ability to plan and manage material and consumable orders five (5) or more days in advance
- OSHA 30 safety certification required
- Experience conducting safety toolbox talks and enforcing jobsite safety standards
- Extensive knowledge of pneumatic and hydronic piping systems
- Extensive knowledge of pipe sizing calculations, including gallons per minute

| JOB RESPONSIBILITIES |
- Take direction from the Superintendent to see projects through to completion while independently managing day-to-day field activities
- Measure and cut pipe according to requirements including all types of materials and fittings (PVC, Copper, Brass, Carbon Steel) with little to no instruction
- Solder, braze, thread pipe, groove pipe, cut with torch, and install hangers as well as carbon steel pipe with little to no instruction
- Repair malfunctions, breakages, or leaks in pipe systems
- Test pipe systems to ensure safety and functionality
- Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps
- Utilize pressure gauges and hydrostatic testing to inspect and test installed pipe systems
- Read drawings in order to cut, assemble, and install pipes
- Lift, position, and secure materials during installation
- Fit pipe in preparation for welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering
- Perform pipe testing and standard QC of pipe installation
- Lead and be responsible for a crew of up to five (5); ensure crew safety and meet all safety requirements set forth by the Company and General Contractor
- Stay five (5) days ahead of work activities with material and consumable orders
- Coordinate with Superintendent and Project Managers so materials can be ordered in a timely manner
- Maintain direct communication with General Contractors, inspectors, and clients
- Able to field fabricate standard piping offsets; able to communicate with the Fabrication Shop on what needs to be fabricated with little or no direction
- Operate most aerial work platforms
- Hold weekly safety toolbox talks with crew
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following OSHA guidelines
