Mechanical Manufacturing Technician I
West Des Moines IA
Contract to Hire 1st Shift, 5/40
Hours: 7am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: $19.00/Hr.

Required Qualifications: Mechanical Manufacturing Technician I
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- No prior experience required.
- Must be a U.S. Person.
- Ability to learn the fundamentals of the position within the first three months of employment.
- Ability to work required overtime and nonstandard hours when business needs dictate.
- Entry-level manufacturing technician position with no certification required.
- Learns basic calibration-specific operations and manufacturing processes.
- Prepares and assembles components into subassemblies and final assemblies under direct supervision.
- Sets up and operates production equipment to ensure spray flow, spray angle, and quality meet specifications and tolerance requirements.
- Expected to obtain certification within 120 days.
- Refers problems or deviations to experienced technicians, supervisors, or engineers.
- Learn to set up and operate test stands to inspect nozzles, spray bars, and valves for spray quality, angle, and flow.
- Learn to set up and operate laser marking and printing equipment according to procedures.
- Record spray parameters by serial number.
- Learn to certify product conformance through testing and performance recordkeeping.
- May learn to disassemble, repair, and assemble products to specifications.
- Complete production documentation and labor transactions accurately.
- Follow EHS, Quality, and Continuous Improvement standards and guidelines.
- Work under immediate supervision and follow established work instructions.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety-related activities.
- Work overtime, extended shifts, nonstandard hours, and some holidays as required by business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Manufacturing background preferred.
- Manual dexterity for assembly and calibration activities.
- Ability to learn to read and understand prints.
- Basic computer proficiency, including email, internet, and document access.
- Basic shop math skills, including knowledge of geometric tolerances.
- Basic problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills with employees and management.
- Safety-sensitive position subject to FAA-required drug and alcohol testing.
