    Description

    Location: Texas (Local candidates preferred or willing to relocate)

    X-Bow Systems is seeking a skilled Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment design, selection, and commissioning for manufacturing facilities, with a strong background in mechanical systems and manufacturing processes. This role requires a local Texas resident or someone willing to relocate to Texas.

    Desired Qualifications:

    Educational Background

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
    • Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred but not required)
    • Specialized certifications in areas such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Reliability Engineering

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in equipment design, selection, and commissioning for manufacturing or industrial facilities
    • Experience with manufacturing processes, plant layout, and equipment integration
    • Familiarity with project management and equipment installation
    • Experience with AS9100 standards

    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for equipment design and layout
    • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, conveyors, and other industrial equipment
    • Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI, API, OSHA, NFPA)
    • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) (preferred)

    Knowledge of Manufacturing Processes

    • Understanding of machining, welding, casting, and assembly processes
    • Familiarity with automation systems and robotics (preferred)
    • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization
    • Familiarity with DoD Instruction 4145.26m (preferred)
    • Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance strategies for manufacturing equipment

    Software Proficiency

    • Experience with engineering software tools for design and simulation
    • Familiarity with ERP systems for equipment procurement and inventory management
    • Familiarity with requirements tracking and traceability software (Cameo preferred)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

    Desired Qualities:

    Problem-Solving Skills

    • Ability to write technical decision papers to document critical decisions or down select options
    • Strong troubleshooting skills for equipment and system issues

    Communication Skills

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors
    • Ability to create clear technical documentation and reports

    Team Collaboration

    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, including coordinating with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

    Safety Awareness

    • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols
    • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to manufacturing equipment

    Leadership and Initiative

    • Ability to take ownership of projects and lead efforts to design, select, and commission equipment
    • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes
