SUMMARY:

The Mechanical Manageris responsible forleading the overall management of the mechanical trades for a project, in both an estimating and preconstruction capacity. This roleis responsible forunderstanding the deliverables, developing a work plan, andidentifyingresources, while coordinating with the Lead Estimating Manager / Preconstruction Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or related field or equivalentrelevantexperience

  • A minimum of five(5) years’ experience in estimating for commercial construction

  • Experience leading the bidding and budgeting process for the mechanical trades for a project

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction management, including safety, quality,constructabilityand sustainability standards

  • Leadership level communication and organization skills

TECHNICAL JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  • Leads budget / bid / GMP assembly for the trade specialization                                                                                            

  • Prepares detailed estimatesat all phases of design;proficient in Division 15                           

  • Manages and coordinates division15 with all otherdivisions

  • Leads constructability reviews for the mechanical trades

  • Leads the development of specific systems analyses and creation of Value Engineering and Alternates lists / logs 

  • Researchesand compiles historical data for use in future estimate and bid preparation   

  • Participatesin design progress / project meetings and client presentations 

  • Ownsresponsibilityfor overall trade partner / supplier coverage and effective communication and management;strategicallyidentifiesand aligns the most qualified trade partners for the market sector and scope

  • Counsels,educatesand coaches staff to help them develop necessary job skills

  • Builds relationships with trade partners / suppliers,clientsand design teams

The base salary (or hourly) range for this position is

$105,000.00 - $135,000.00
