Mechanical Maintenance TechnicianPay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, 12-Hour Rotating Shift (2-2-3 Schedule)

Penmac Staffing is recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support a manufacturing facility specializing in pulp and cellulose processing operations. This position is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, performing repairs, and helping maintain efficient plant operations.Requirements for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial manufacturing experience
- Formal training in pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical systems, PLCs, instrumentation, or related technical fields
- Ability to pass the NOCTI exam
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to submit to required pre-employment screenings
Mechanical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform corrective repairs
- Inspect machinery to identify irregularities, malfunctions, and wear
- Assemble and install equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine machine servicing
- Maintain accurate maintenance records within the CMMS system
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment to move machinery and components safely
- Support equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and adjustments
- Assist with major outages, shutdowns, and emergency repairs
- Operate and monitor process equipment used in pulp production
- Support training efforts for new employees and assist cross-functional teams as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work at heights
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment
- Ability to work additional hours during plant shutdowns or emergency situations
