Mechanical Maintenance Technician

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on industrial production equipment to maximize equipment reliability and minimize manufacturing downtime. Mechanical Maintenance Technician Education and Experience: Technical training or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.

Clayton Services is searching for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join a thriving manufacturing company in the Humble, Texas area. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on industrial production equipment to maximize equipment reliability and minimize manufacturing downtime.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $26.00–$32.00/hour, depending on experience
Benefits: Excellent benefits available upon hire.
Schedule: Fixed 2-2-3 schedule, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

Mechanical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs.
• Repair and replace bearings, mechanical components, and other equipment parts.
• Maintain critical and standby equipment in proper operating condition.
• Respond to production equipment breakdowns and restore operation efficiently.
• Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform lubrication and routine mechanical maintenance activities.
• Identify required spare parts and assist with maintaining maintenance inventory.
• Complete and close maintenance work orders.
• Document repairs, equipment failures, parts usage, and maintenance findings.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production and other plant personnel.
• Perform work involving LOTO, hot work, confined spaces, work at heights, and other controlled activities as required.
• Follow plant safety and maintenance procedures at all times.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician Skills and Abilities:

• Strong industrial mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Experience with bearings, lubrication, rotating equipment, and mechanical components.
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures and complete repairs efficiently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with industrial safety procedures, including LOTO.
• Ability to read technical information and maintenance documentation.
• CMMS or ERP maintenance-system experience preferred.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure during equipment breakdowns.
• Ability to work a fixed day or night 12-hour schedule.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician Education and Experience:

• Technical training or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance experience required.
• Manufacturing, metal processing, heavy industrial, or similar plant experience strongly preferred.
• Equivalent combination of technical training and industrial maintenance experience will be considered.
