    Step into the heart of steelmaking

    From the moment your shift begins, you’re the go-to expert ensuring our heavy industrial equipment runs reliably and safely. As a Mechanical Maintenance Millwright, you’ll keep production moving by installing, maintaining, repairing, and operating a wide array of mechanical systems in a demanding steel mill environment.

    What your day looks like

    • Diagnose and fix issues across hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and power transmission systems.
    • Service and align conveyors, cranes, and mobile equipment; operate pendant and overhead cranes and forklifts as needed.
    • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance to sustain continuous operations.
    • Pitch in with operating activities when it helps the team hit its goals.
    • Tackle work at heights or within confined spaces, sometimes independently with minimal supervision and other times alongside fellow technicians.
    • Thrive in varying conditions—hot, cold, wet, greasy, dirty, and noisy—across multiple plant areas.

    What you bring

    • At least 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience (military experience counts) or equivalent education. Background across areas like hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission, welding, pipefitting, structural repair, or diesel mechanics is valued.
    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts (including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) with overtime as needed.
    • Uncompromising commitment to safety—PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and metatarsal boots is required at all times.
    • Strong attendance, punctuality, and self-direction.
    • Willingness to successfully complete required assessment test(s).
