    Job Title: Mechanical Inspector
    Reports to: Quality Assurance Lab Supervisor
     
    Special training needed: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Drawing Interpretation
     
    Experience Required: 
    Three years minimum experience in an NC machine manufacturing environment. Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience (PC-DMIS preferred) helpful but not required. Ability to learn is required.
    Must be extremely proficient in the use of inspection tools (i.e. calipers, micrometers, Inter-mics, height gage, etc.). 
    Must possess a working knowledge of MS Office products.
     
    Purpose of position: 
    To perform first piece, and in-process inspections on machined components in order to ensure compliance to Engineering drawings.
    Interface with shop floor, production and Engineering personnel to ensure timely resolution of Non-conformances.
    Ensure that all product manufactured at KAC meets all Engineering requirements.
     
    Description of job duties: 
    •      Perform First Piece inspections in order to verify part compliance to Engineering drawings prior to approving the part for 
           Production machining.
    •      Perform In-Process inspections on production parts in order to ensure continued compliance to Engineering drawings.
    •      Document the results of all inspections and compile weekly reports of inspections performed.
    •      Interface with machine operators and/or programmers in order to communicate  and resolve issues (non-conformances) in 
           an effective and timely manner.
    •      Interface with Manufacturing Engineering personnel in order to resolve drawing, fixture or programming-related issues.
    •      Use a computer to input and print documents as non-conformance report.
     •      Performs reasonably related duties as assigned.
