Description

Nesco Resource is currently seeking an Experienced Mechanical Field Technician with our long-time Assembly/Parts Manufacturing Client in Livonia, MI. This is a Direct Hire opportunity!


Shift: 1st: 7:00 am- 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday, with possible OT/Weekends

Pay: $32 - $38/ hour, based on level of expertise



Summary:
The Mechanical Field Technician is responsible for assembling, installing, inspecting, and testing various subassemblies, mechanical components, and completed builds.

Components must be assembled according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. The Ideal candidate must have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, deconstruct, wire, and integrate mechanical/electrical components for automated machinery such as lift tables and conveyors
  • Install automation systems both on-site and at customer location
  • Review and interpret required steps from mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams
  • Troubleshoot and debug systems to ensure functionality
  • Perform mechanical fittings, light welding, and fabrication when needed
  • Collaborate with designers and engineering team to improve efficiency measures
  • Perform testing of equipment to validate before shipment to customers
  • Travel to customer locations to set up, install, troubleshoot, and repair as needed
  • Perform diagnostics of machinery to resolve any mechanical and electrical issues with limited guidance
  • Ensure completed products meet established quality criteria, including strength and compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure all service documentation is completed
  • Communicate any changes, issues, or improvements to customers and internal staff to maintain productivity
  • Maintain company and customer safety standards and follow site requirements






Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of automation assembly, machine building, or related field
  • Proficient knowledge of troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Background/experience with precision assembly, tooling, and fabrication
  • Bi-lingual/ Spanish speaking is a plus!
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems, and inspection processes
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and work instructions
  • Possess strong manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Ability to stand, reach, bend or twist body frequently throughout shift
