Mechanical Fabrication Project Lead — Sheet Metal Engineering

Make an Impact

Lead complex sheet metal manufacturing projects as the technical expert and account owner. You’ll orchestrate quoting, modeling, BOM creation, and process engineering while keeping production on schedule and customers informed.

What You’ll Own

• ERP Order Processing
  • Interpret client drawings and specifications for manufacturability.
  • Create 3D models and production-ready shop drawings using AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Build accurate bills of material (BOMs) for parts and assemblies.
  • Engineer routings and sequences across laser cutting, forming, welding, and finishing.
• Estimating & Quoting
  • Generate precise quotes in the ERP system driven by process plans and customer requirements.
• Project Tracking
  • Maintain design time logs and BOM change histories to monitor cost and schedule.
• Key Account Leadership
  • Serve as primary contact for assigned clients, aligning expectations from RFQ to delivery.
  • Coordinate with production leaders to meet timelines and resolve issues.
  • Provide timely updates on quotes, orders, and production questions.
  • Travel to client sites on occasion.

What You Bring

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience.
• 3–5 years with AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor in a manufacturing environment.
• Track record managing projects from small custom builds to large OEM programs.
• Ability to read sheet metal prints and produce accurate BOMs.
• Applied knowledge of laser cutting, press brake/forming, welding, and finishing for process engineering, estimating, and order processing.
• Communication skills that build trust with production teams, clients, and management.
• Reliability, attention to detail, punctuality, and team-first mindset.
• Self-starter who is proactive yet collaborative across disciplines.
• Fluency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience using ERP platforms for quoting, order entry, and inventory control.
• Comfort with measurement and QC tools such as calipers and tape measures.
