We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established contractor specializing in commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 3-10 years of experience estimating mechanical systems and a strong command of estimating software such as AutoBid.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement project-specific estimate plans according to company procedures
• Review drawings, specs, and documents to identify scope and take-off inconsistencies
• Perform quantity take-offs with speed and accuracy using estimating software
• Initiate and manage communication with subcontractors and equipment vendors
• Coordinate project instructions, clarifications, and updates between management and vendor/subcontractor groups
• Identify and report irregularities in vendor quotes or labor conditions to management
• Evaluate changes in project scope and prepare revised estimates to reflect updated requirements and maximize profitability
• Ensure final estimate is complete, accurate, and ready for review before bid submission
• Participate in bid wrap-ups and project handoffs
• Continuously improve take-off and estimating procedures for non-standard or custom work

Qualifications:

• 3-10 years of experience in mechanical estimating (HVAC, piping, plumbing, etc.)
• Experience estimating for a mechanical contractor is required
• Proficient in AutoBid or similar estimating software
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, labor productivity, and industry pricing
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Effective communicator and team player
