Mechanical Equipment Technician

Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on generators, load banks, power distribution equipment, transformers, and low-voltage cables. Operate hand tools, power tools, metering equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop equipment.

• $26.00/hour for shop work – NO travel required!
• Earn an additional $8.00/hour while traveling – bringing your rate to $34.00/hour!
• Overtime opportunities available
• All approved travel expenses covered
• Per diem provided while traveling

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on generators, load banks, power distribution equipment, transformers, and low-voltage cables.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment issues and perform major repairs.
• Dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble equipment as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and low-voltage quality control checks.
• Prepare rental equipment, including generators, AC/DC load banks, transformers, cables, and trailers.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, metering equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shop equipment.
• Fabricate parts and equipment to meet shop and customer needs.
• Accurately complete repair documentation and estimate repair time and costs.

Qualifications:

•  Mechanical, electrical, diesel, industrial maintenance, generator, or equipment repair experience is highly desirable
• Trade school graduates are encouraged to apply!
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must be at least 23 years old
• Valid driver's license required
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
• Reliable transportation required

Travel:

• Travel is OPTIONAL – this position can remain 100% shop-based!
• Want to travel and earn more? Receive an additional $8.00/hour while on assignment
• Travel assignments may last up to two weeks at a time
• Travel expenses are covered and per diem is provided

Schedule:

• Full-time, Monday-Friday
• 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Overtime available
• First 3 weeks consist of hands-on training in the shop.
