Join our Team Supporting the Air Force Research Laboratory
ASRC Federal Systems Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking Mechanical Engineering Technicians (Levels II & III) to support the ASTROS Contract at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
In this role, youll support the assembly, maintenance, and testing of advanced propulsion systems that contribute to our nations defense. Were looking for hands-on mechanical professionals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and solving complex technical challenges.
Hiring level will be based on education, experience, and qualifications.
What Youll Do
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience will determine placement:
Mechanical Engineering Technician II: 0-3 years of related mechanical, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, aerospace, propulsion, or technical experience.
Mechanical Engineering Technician III: 4-6 years of related experience.
Experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment and systems.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience using standard mechanical hand tools and shop equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, loaders, or backhoes.
Experience repairing mechanical components, including pumps, valves, tubing, and related equipment.
Experience bending tubing and installing aerospace fittings/connectors.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.
Ability to obtain access to customer computer systems.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
