Position Summary
SRU invites applications for one full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in mechanical engineering starting spring semester 2027. This position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses from fundamental engineering courses to upper division Mechanical engineering courses including instruction in engineering software packages such as CAD, CAM, MATLAB, Python, and Labview. Additionally, they will be expected to establish a productive research program that involves undergraduates, actively participate in student advising and prepare students for a successful career, and participate in department/university service, including maintaining ABET accreditation. Qualified Candidates have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering or related discipline. Candidates will also have a background in manufacturing, mechatronics, and/or 3-D printing. Preferred candidates will demonstrate effective use of evidence-based pedagogy and showcase a research plan accessible to undergraduate students.
