The engineer will interpret and create engineering drawings and blueprints, drive hardware architecture decisions, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices and subsystems.
- Investigate and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine technical feasibility, schedule, and cost to complete projects.
- Diagnose equipment failures and operational difficulties, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to maintenance and operations teams.
- Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications and safety standards.
- Develop and implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical guidance and documentation to stakeholders.
- Compare and evaluate system hardware options and make informed architectural decisions for mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Design, build, and refine prototypes; plan and execute hands-on testing, validation, and verification activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., electrical, manufacturing, quality, and program management) to ensure design intent, manufacturability, and reliability targets are met.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, models, and reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lessons learned from field performance, failures, and customer feedback.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and trade studies to optimize performance, cost, and schedule.
- Remain open to and actively participate in technical investigations related to product performance, quality issues, and field returns.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline required).
- Extensive experience as a mechanical engineer working on complex mechanical or electromechanical products, systems, or devices.
- Strong creativity, analytical skills, and problem-solving ability applied to real-world engineering challenges.

- Experience with hardware architecture decisions for mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Openness to conducting and supporting technical investigations related to product performance and failures.
- Experience with CAT tools or similar computer-aided technologies in prior roles.
- Collaborative working style with the ability to partner effectively with design, manufacturing, and test teams.
- Understanding of how camera and speaker modules work, and experience integrating or supporting such components is a plus.
- Ability to adhere to company policies, exercise sound judgment, manage stress effectively, and work safely and respectfully with others.
