Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a pharmaceutical and biotechnology equipment manufacturing company, is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer in Tonawanda, NY.

Pay Rate Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience, plus bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Apply knowledge of pressure vessel design, including ASME Section VIII Division 1 standards, to the design of capital process equipment.

• Design machinery and systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and aseptic processing equipment.

• Perform stress analysis and finite element analysis (FEA).

• Work with stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, controls, and refrigeration systems.

• Develop and support large-scale industrial equipment for pharmaceutical and related applications.

• Manage engineering projects, monitor cost variances, and collaborate with customers and internal teams.

• Support equipment start-up and validation activities.

• Promote and maintain SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

• 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.

• Experience with pressure vessel design and ASME Section VIII Division 1 standards.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Proficiency with computer tools and engineering/drawing software.

• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with refrigeration systems, heat transfer, hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, or stainless steel fabrication is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of electrical distribution, automation, and control systems is a plus.

• Experience performing advanced stress analysis and FEA is preferred.

• Willingness to work overtime when required.
