ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics (AFFL) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our work at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt MD. This role is in support of the Repair, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering (ROME) contract.
This is an onsite position in NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
About the role
We are seeking a highly technical, field-oriented mechanical systems specialist to support facility maintenance, troubleshooting, and project planning at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The specialist will work with project managers, facility managers, technicians, engineers, and contractors to assess mechanical systems and provide practical technical advice for planning and completing work.
This is an applied technical role focused on field knowledge, problem-solving, and project support. A mechanical engineering degree and professional engineering license are not required.
Relevant hands-on experience may substitute for formal education.

Education and experience
Requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a related or applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates may qualify through a combination of technical training, trade education, military experience, and directly relevant work experience.
Preferred: Experience supporting complex facilities, laboratories, test facilities, industrial equipment, or government sites.
Role boundary
This position provides technical assessment, labor and cost input, and project support. It does not serve as the engineering design authority. Engineering calculations, final design decisions, and work requiring a licensed professional engineer must be performed or approved by appropriately qualified engineering personnel.
