ob Title: Mechanical EngineerDepartment: EngineeringReports to: Discipline LeadGENERAL PURPOSE OF THIS JOB (Summary)The Mechanical Engineer delivers safe, "Best for Project" solutions for complex projects while ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include collaborating with other disciplines, creating and reviewing models and drawings, and completing necessary calculations to ensure systems perform as intended. The role requires a strong understanding of first principles, pumping, piping, mechanical actuation, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, and relevant codes and standards. Additional duties deemed to be within the incumbent's capabilities, on an as required basis, might be assigned by management.Design and specify components for mechanical and piping systems, ensuring compliance with necessary standardsDevelop and document calculations ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulationsCreation of accurate detailed design drawings that comply with company standardsCollaborate with Designers to ensure drawings reflect requirementsCommunicate effectively and collaborate with structural and electrical disciplinesAssist procurement with technical questions, vendor assessments, and recommendations to ensure project requirements are metParticipate in design reviews, ensuring constructability, operability, maintainability and safety in all designsProvide timely technical recommendations during construction in response to field inquiriesConduct quality assurance reviews and reports on fabricated or constructed work to verify compliance with requirementsContribute to the development and maintenance of departmental standards in line with codes, regulations, and mining industry guidelinesAdhere to Cementation engineering standardsPerform other duties as assignedTRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis position has the requirement for occasional travel to project sites, offices, and/or to conduct shop reviewsTravel period may range from one day to several weeks and may include overseas assignmentsSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESHas no direct reports, however, will oversee, check, and stamp the work of mechanical designers and EITsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institutionRegistered as a Professional Engineer or eligible to become registered within 1 yearExperience in discipline specific design for underground or heavy industrial infrastructure, piping, or material handlingMinimum 4 to 8 years of relevant experienceSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIESSafety-orientedCollaborative team playerProfessionalEffective communicatorEngagedInnovativeSelf-starterPositively reacts to changeKnowledge of underground/above ground mining infrastructure is beneficialKnowledge and experience with the following mechanical systems is beneficial:Specialized mechanical equipmentHydraulic/Pneumatic actuationIndustrial HVACBulk material handling systemGeneral FEA softwareKnowledge and skills in the following software considered an asset:Autodesk Product SuiteRevitInventor/NastranBluebeam RevuMS Office SuiteWHAT WE OFFERCompetitive payCompany and personal performance bonusSafety bonusPremium benefits plan (Low deductible and out-of-pocket max, monthly premium paid by company with no employee contribution)Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office, 2 from home)Collaborative, innovative, and rewarding work environmentUnique and exciting project workCementation is an equal opportunity employer Cementation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
