Mechanical Engineer - Sheet Finishing

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the Sheet Finishing department, focused on improving safety, efficiency, output, and overall product quality. This role is responsible for integrating and enhancing mechanical systems that support manufacturing infrastructure and processes.

You will work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, maintenance, and production. This position reports to the Lead Engineer and typically operates Monday-Friday on a day shift, with occasional off-shift support as needed for project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute project management activities for both sustaining and capital improvement initiatives
  • Oversee all phases of mechanical engineering projects, including concept development, scope definition, specifications, safety reviews, bidding, design, manufacturing, commissioning, and project closure
  • Design, integrate, and improve mechanical systems within manufacturing processes
  • Coordinate and manage external vendors and contractors for equipment design, procurement, installation, and ongoing support
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, equipment reliability, infrastructure, training, and production output
  • Lead and support troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to enhance process and machine performance
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to implement effective solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with aluminum rolling mills or similar manufacturing technologies
  • Ability to read, interpret, and modify mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility system designs
  • Hands-on experience developing and implementing mechanical engineering projects

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
