    Job Title: Mechanical Engineer / Analyst - MSIP Team NuVision EngineeringLocation: Pittsburgh, PACompany: NuVision Engineering, Inc.Department: EngineeringPosition Overview:NuVision Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Analyst to join our Mechanical Stress Improvement Process (MSIP) team in Pittsburgh. This team is responsible for delivering high-quality finite element analysis (FEA) and engineering support for the deployment of MSIP-a patented process used to mitigate stress corrosion cracking in reactor vessel nozzles, piping, and components in boiling water reactors (BWRs) and pressurized water reactors (PWRs).This role is ideal for a technically driven engineer who is comfortable combining analytical tools and field awareness to deliver practical, safety-focused solutions for the nuclear power industry.Key Responsibilities:

    Perform finite element analysis (FEA) of nonlinear systems including reactor vessel welds, piping, and custom components or tooling using ANSYS Mechanical (APDL and Workbench).Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation to communicate modeling assumptions, analysis results, and MSIP process parameters.Collaborate closely with internal engineering and field teams to improve MSIP equipment and processes.Support additional engineering analysis efforts such as mechanical evaluations, thermal assessments, and structural integrity reviews as needed.Participate in field activities, including domestic and international travel to customer sites to conduct meetings, provide technical oversight, and support plant outages.Provide on-call support and local presence during project execution and outage windows, as required.

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.Proficiency in ANSYS Mechanical (APDL and Workbench).Experience with Mathcad or similar mathematical computing tools.Familiarity with ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, particularly Sections III and XI.Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts.Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.Ability to obtain unescorted access to U.S. and international nuclear power plants.Valid passport and willingness to travel internationally in support of field projects.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Working knowledge of heat transfer and thermal analysis principles.Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 and NQA-1.Hands-on technical aptitude to support or troubleshoot MSIP equipment.Field experience in a regulated or high-reliability industry (nuclear, aerospace, defense, etc.).Flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing priorities or site conditions.
