Summary:

Our team is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design and engineer HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and other institutional facilities. This is a building systems (MEP) engineering role and not a product design position. The ideal candidate will contribute to all phases of project delivery, from design through construction, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.

What We Offer

  • Flexible and competitive pay scale
  • Multiple location options
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Opportunities for professional growth and career development
  • Collaborative and team-oriented work environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and institutional facilities.
  • Prepare complete construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations, in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform HVAC load calculations, equipment selections, and system performance analyses using industry-standard software such as Trane TRACE, eQUEST, and Revit MEP.
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets while maintaining quality and client satisfaction.
  • Provide construction administration services, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site observations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Interface directly with clients, architects, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
  • Contribute to energy modeling, sustainability initiatives, and LEED/green building certification efforts.
  • Support business development through proposal preparation and client presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a minimum of three years of mechanical design experience.
  • AutoCAD and Revit experience.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in MEP/building systems engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes, including ASHRAE, IMC, NFPA, and IPC.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • LEED AP or other sustainability credential.
  • Experience with energy modeling software, including Trane TRACE, eQUEST, or EnergyPlus.
  • Background in healthcare, higher education, commercial, or mission-critical facility design.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) coordination workflows.
  • Experience with commissioning processes and documentation.

Please note: This position may not encompass all of the responsibilities listed above. If you do not meet every qualification, we still encourage you to apply.
