Job Details
Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Huntsville, Alabama
Experience Required: 7-10 years (minimum 6+ years mandatory)
Must-Have Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Experience with PDM Vault
- Knowledge of off-highway vehicles and sheet metal design
- Hands-on experience with ECN/ECR processes
Key Responsibilities
- Minimum 7 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Understand and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) from Schwarze Project/Product Managers
- Evaluate design changes and assess impact on related systems and sub-systems
- Perform CAD design modifications and 2D drawing updates
- Prepare Change Notice packages using PLM tools (Vault)
- Ensure compliance with Schwarze engineering processes and ISO standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve and prioritize ECR issues efficiently
Knowledge & Critical Skills
- Strong understanding of product design methodologies including DFM/DFA, DFMEA, system-level design, risk mitigation, COGS, and product safety
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and fluid power systems
- Working knowledge of driveline and drivetrain systems
- Solid understanding of stress analysis (classical & FEA), bolted joints, welded structures, fatigue analysis, bending moments, and shear force analysis
- High level of accountability and ownership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools
