Mechanical Engineering Team Lead

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to step into a leadership role, guiding a team of engineers and designers on large-scale mechanical building system projects. This position currently oversees 2–3 direct reports, with growth potential to lead a team of up to 10 engineers and designers.

What You'll Do

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mechanical engineers and designers
• Design mechanical building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature controls
• Plan project resources, manage schedules, and oversee budgets
• Drive business development, marketing, and client relationship efforts
• Manage client accounts and project delivery from concept to completion
• Apply life-cycle costing analysis and HVAC modeling/simulation software

What You Bring

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to obtain KY licensure within 6 months and additional licenses by reciprocity
• 15–20 years of experience designing mechanical building systems in a consulting environment
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and temperature control systems
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Proven experience in marketing, sales, and business development
• Solid client and project management background
• LEED accreditation is a plus
