Richard Design Services (RDS) is currently seeking experienced Level III Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary

The Mechanical Engineers responsibilities include managing complex engineering projects, providing leadership to junior engineers, and ensuring that designs and solutions meet the highest technical and industry standards. This position is responsible for the overall integrity of the mechanical engineering work produced for equipment, mechanical systems, piping stress analysis, and piping specifications. They will collaborate with clients, the project teams and vendors in the development of the project.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering projects.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of projects, ensuring that designs meet functional requirements, budgets, and timelines.
  • Perform advanced technical analysis, calculations, and simulations to validate designs and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation, including detailed design specifications, reports, and proposals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, vendors, and external partners, ensuring alignment on project objectives and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards in project execution.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful project completion.
  • Develop and implement project management processes and best practices to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Review and approve final designs, technical solutions, and product specifications.
  • Lead troubleshooting and issue resolution for complex technical challenges in projects.

Job Requirements

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on large and small projects both leading and hand on.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading teams.
  • Expert knowledge in engineering design principles, methods, and software tools.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in advanced engineering software and modeling tools.
  • In-depth understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to lead teams, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • High attention to detail and focus on quality control.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Work Environment

This position primarily is performed from RICHARD's office located in Houston, TX. The work will mostly take place in an office setting, and the employee will need to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and through email. The employee should be physically able to carry out the required tasks. They may need to visit Client facilities, so it's important that the employee is in good physical health in order to travel, conduct field assessments, attend meetings at various locations, and perform other duties as required.
