Description

Dimplex Thermal Solutions (DTS) was initially formed by the combination of two premier chiller manufacturers in the industry - Koolant Koolers & Schreiber Engineering. DTS is based in Kalamazoo, Mich., the North American manufacturing arm of the Glen Dimplex Precision Cooling Division. DTS provides thermal management solutions with air, water, and glycol-cooled chillers for a dynamic range of applications. DTS offers four major brands in the precision cooling market: Koolant Koolers, Riedel Kooling, Hyfra, and Werner Finley.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

Use FEA/CFD or other analysis software to analyze thermal, structural and fluid flow problems relating to design and optimization of chillers and associated products
Develop analytical and numerical models of thermal and related systems that include properties of devices and materials and other factors that influence performance
Assist R&D manager with IP analysis
Work with global engineering teams to rapidly advance integration of new technologies in design
Identify and select suppliers for new product designs that are capable of taking us to a higher performance standard
Run simulations to analyze and optimize design configurations for various cooling applications
Interpret experimental model results to optimize design parameters
Correlate simulation with experimental results
Support manufacturing process development activities
Other duties assigned by supervisor

Requirements

·Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field

·Thermal sciences focus is preferred

·Experience using commercially available FEA/CFD software

·Experience using Mathcad, MATLAB or similar software for modeling thermal systems

·Experience using 3D CAD design software, preferably SolidWorks

·Proficiency in project management

·A working knowledge of and experience with heat transfer and stress analysis

·Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

·Ability to lead a team and provide direction on designs

·Creative problem solving approach
