Mechanical Engineer III

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III to support R&D and product development activities. This role will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, sales, vendors, and product management teams to support new product innovation, value engineering, sustaining engineering, and product improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and engineering designs.
• Select and evaluate components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Support qualification of new materials and components.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and specifications.
• Support new product development and execution of product roadmap initiatives.
• Contribute to value engineering, sustaining engineering, and product improvement projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and vendors to resolve design and product issues.
• Perform hands-on engineering and laboratory work as needed.
• Follow required safety procedures and wear PPE when performing lab or hands-on activities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, R&D, product development, or a related engineering environment.
• Strong experience with mechanical design and 3D CAD modeling.
• Experience with component/material selection and engineering documentation.
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable performing hands-on work and working in a laboratory environment.
• Willingness to wear PPE as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the water industry.
• Background in electrochemistry.
• Experience with new product development, sustaining engineering, or value engineering.

Work Environment

• Onsite position in a collaborative R&D office/lab environment.
• Approximately 10–20 team members working in an open office/cubicle setting.
• Some laboratory and hands-on engineering work may be required.
