Forensic Engineering Consultant

This position offers the opportunity to apply mechanical engineering principles in a forensic consulting environment. The successful candidate will investigate incidents, inspect mechanical systems and vehicles, perform accident reconstruction analyses, and manage engineering projects from initial investigation through to final reporting and client presentation.

Conduct forensic engineering investigations involving vehicle accidents, product failures, and property losses.

Perform vehicle inspections, data retrieval, and downloads.

Reconstruct motor vehicle collisions using engineering calculations and simulation tools.

Prepare technical reports, findings, and expert opinions for clients and legal proceedings.

Manage multiple projects while coordinating field investigations and client requirements.

The ideal candidate is a motivated Mechanical Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a desire to work within forensic engineering. They will be comfortable balancing field investigations and office-based analysis, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while managing competing priorities.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.

Professional Engineer (PE) licence or EIT certification with plans to obtain PE status.

Knowledge of automotive systems including powertrain, chassis, thermal, and vehicle dynamics.

Willingness to travel for site inspections and investigations as required.
