Job Description (General Summary)

Are you hands-on, curious, and good at turning ideas into practical solutions? At Intralox, one of the world's leading innovators in conveyance solutions, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Development Engineering team and play a key role in translating customer needs into practical, high-quality mechanical solutions.

Why this role matters

This is an opportunity to join a mature, well-functioning product-centric team where you can quickly plug in and make an impact. Rather than working on high-volume, mass-produced products, you'll contribute to adaptable, configurable equipment and solutions that require thoughtful engineering and close cross-functional collaboration. Our team works across the full product lifecycle, from ideation and definition through downstream improvements and real-world feedback. Collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement are at the heart of how we work.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll work in a development engineering role that sits close to the business, the shop floor, and the product. You'll partner with product managers, project managers, lead product engineers, controls engineers, test engineers, order engineering, and shop-floor stakeholders to develop and improve mechanical products, components, and systems. This role offers visibility across global teams and the chance to grow in different directions over time, whether toward technical leadership, management, application engineering, test engineering, or other engineering paths within Intralox.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

What you'll do:

  • Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into mechanical designs to enable effective, high-quality product solutions
  • Develop and improve components, systems, and equipment to drive performance, reliability, and adaptability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, controls, test, and order engineering) to ensure alignment across the product lifecycle
  • Contribute to automation initiatives (e.g. CAD configurators and design tools) to improve engineering efficiency and scalability
  • Provide timely, high-quality engineering input to enable teams to deliver projects successfully and meet business goals
  • Refine engineering processes, documentation, and best practices to drive continuous improvement across the team
  • Build deep expertise in Intralox's ARB technology and its applications

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial machine design
  • Strong skills in 3D CAD and PDM systems
  • Proven ability to translate requirements into mechanical designs or solutions
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written & verbal)
  • A hands-on, proactive mindset with strong ownership

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience working in cross-functional or matrix environments with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and PLM systems (e.g. Windchill), especially in sheet metal design
  • Background in conveyor, material handling, or similar equipment-focused environments
  • Familiarity with structured product development processes (APQP, stage-gate) and agile/SCRUM methodologies

If you don't meet every requirement but are excited about the role, we still encourage you to apply.

Why Intralox?

  • International environment with opportunities to grow your career globally.
  • A supportive, high-performing team that values collaboration.
  • A workplace driven by ideas, innovation, and ownership.
  • A financially strong, market-leading brand.
  • Performance-based profit sharing.
  • 25 holiday days + 6 ATV days.
  • Excellent benefits package including a mobility card for business and personal use, pension scheme and contributions to health & life insurance.

Building great things together

Intralox is a global leader in innovative conveyance solutions, with more than 3,000 employees across 20+ countries. For over 50 years, we've helped customers grow by solving complex challenges with smart, reliable solutions.

At our core is a simple principle: do the right thing. We've built a culture grounded in honesty, fairness, and respect, where every idea is valued, and great thinking can come from anywhere. Self-managed, curious individuals thrive here.

We believe great results start with great people. That's why we bring together driven, collaborative teams who are passionate about making a real-world impact. You'll be empowered to take initiative, supported in your growth, and encouraged to continuously improve, while working alongside colleagues who celebrate shared success.

Note: To be considered for this role, you need to be based in The Netherlands and have a valid work permit.
