Mechanical Engineer (CPT/OPT/EADs/GC/USC)

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Mossville, IL Onsite
Duration: Permanent (Full-Time)
Travel: 0 25% Domestic

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support the development and validation of cooling systems for construction, mining, power generation, marine, and locomotive applications. The role involves 1D system simulation, CFD analysis, cooling system design, component sizing, and collaboration with design and test engineering teams.

• Perform cooling system analysis and simulation for product development projects.
• Develop cooling system layouts, component sizing, and component selection using 1D simulation tools.
• Perform CFD analysis of cooling components such as pumps, radiators, and aftercoolers.
• Develop CFD models to analyze airflow through cooling packages.
• Perform underhood thermal CFD analysis to predict airflow and component temperatures.
• Correlate simulation results with physical test data.
• Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of cooling-related issues.
• Collaborate with design, system, validation, and test engineering teams.
• Communicate analysis results and recommend design improvements.
• Help establish technical requirements and specifications for new products.
• Improve simulation methods, processes, and engineering tools.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting project timelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Agricultural, Aerospace, or similar preferred.
• 2+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 1+ year with a Master's degree.
• At least 1 year of experience focused on cooling system performance for product development.
• Experience with 1D and/or CFD system simulation.
• Strong background in thermo-sciences, including:
  • Fluid Mechanics
  • Thermodynamics
  • Heat Transfer
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Fluent, Star-CCM+, or OpenFOAM
• GT-Suite or other 1D analysis tools
• Creo
• ANSA or ANSYS Workbench/SpaceClaim
• Python, C++, or Java
• Cooling system/component analysis

A Mechanical/Agricultural/Aerospace Engineer with strong thermo-science fundamentals and hands-on experience in cooling system analysis, 1D simulation, or CFD. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with tools such as Fluent, GT-Suite, Creo, or similar and have strong communication and project management skills.
