This position seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and execution of engineering projects with a strong focus on pressure vessel design. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, sales, customers, suppliers, and vendors to deliver robust engineering designs, detailed technical documentation, and hands-on manufacturing support. The role emphasizes adherence to industry standards, precision in design and drafting, and active involvement in certification and quality processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design pressure vessels in accordance with applicable industry standards using Codeware Compress and SolidWorks.
• Produce accurate, standards-compliant mechanical designs that meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.
• Create complete and detailed engineering drawings and documentation on schedule, including bills of materials and related technical packages.
• Perform mechanical inspections and verify that designs and fabricated components meet engineering specifications and quality requirements.
• Develop and maintain certification documents required for pressure vessels and related equipment.
• Coordinate with certification agencies and professional engineering (PE) firms to support certification, approvals, and compliance activities.
• Support manufacturing operations by providing technical guidance, resolving design issues, and assisting with production challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including manufacturing and sales, to ensure designs meet customer requirements and production capabilities.
• Work directly with customers, suppliers, and vendors to clarify specifications, address technical questions, and support successful project execution.
• Maintain quality and safety standards throughout the design and manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to relevant codes and quality systems.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to support engineering, documentation, and manufacturing workflows.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design practices, documentation, and manufacturing support.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor"s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
• At least 3 years of engineering design experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated pressure vessel design experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of SolidWorks experience for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Proficiency with CAD software and mechanical drafting practices.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment, supporting production activities.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems to manage engineering and manufacturing data.
• Knowledge and practical experience with industry quality standards such as ASME, API, or ISO.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including stress analysis, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Ability to produce accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation within defined timelines.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with internal teams, customers, suppliers, and vendors.
• Commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards in all engineering activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience using Codeware Compress for pressure vessel design.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification.
• Experience working with formal quality systems and certification processes.
• Familiarity with coordinating activities with certification agencies and professional engineering firms.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving design and manufacturing issues.

Work Environment

The role operates within a manufacturing-focused engineering environment where you will regularly interface with production, quality, sales, and external partners. You will use tools such as SolidWorks, Codeware Compress, CAD software, and ERP/MRP systems to create designs, manage data, and support manufacturing operations. The work involves a mix of office-based design and documentation tasks and time on the manufacturing floor to support inspections, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with production teams. The environment is fast-paced and project-driven, emphasizing adherence to industry standards, quality systems, and safety practices while delivering high-quality pressure vessel designs and related engineering solutions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Broken Arrow, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $53.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
